Lyrical/Contemporary Jazz Class

Dancers aged 11 and up will receive a 45 min. class once a week. Lyrical dance is a style that combines ballet and jazz dancing techniques. It is performed to music with lyrics so that it inspires expression of strong emotions the choreographer feels from the lyrics of the song. Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet.
Class consists of combining Lyrical & Contemporary styles into choreography and creative movement.
Must be enrolled in a Ballet & Jazz class. Class for ages 11-14 will require beige slip-on jazz shoes & class for ages 14 & over (Sen. B) require foot undies. (Ask if unsure of placement for 14 year olds by email please). Teacher’s discretion for placement. Age is of September 30th @ the start of the season.
Class attends two competitions.
Class for ages 11-14 years will run only with sufficient enrollment. (To be determined in August).

Attire:

Bodysuit and tights/ Bra Tops & shorts/Jazz pants & leggings.
Foot Undies.

Hair:

Ponytail/pigtails/bun.
